Alright let’s face it, it can be difficult to find time to read all the details of lengthy text. Well I’m here to tell you there’s a way to have the details read to you. Have your computer read to you.
Unfortunately, I only have the details for the Mac OS. I have sent requests to friends with Windows, but have not received any info yet. I’m confident there’s a way to do this on Windows as well. If you know, please share and I’ll post the info here.
HOW IT WORKS
Start by highlighting all the text you’d like to have read to you. This may be a paragraph or the whole page. Once selected, go to the Safari pull-down (this will work in any application) > Select Services > Speech > Start Speaking Text.
If you’d like to adjust the voice, goto your System Preferences and click Speech.
Here you can change the personality of the voice, the speed at which it reads, etc.
So long winded text doesn’t have to be a problem. Let your computer do the work of reading to you. Enjoy!
