Wow Kent, that lion is awesome, absolutely amazing! Makes my feeble attempts at Wordless Wednesday look like they were taken by a 2 yr old

What a gloriously regal photo! Love that face! Excellent!

All I can think of when I look at that photo is Aslan.
And then I think of this exchange from the book:
Susan speaking of Aslan: “Is he safe?”
Mrs. Beaver: “If there’s anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they’re either braver than most or else just silly.”
Lucy: “Then he isn’t safe?”
Mr Beaver: “’Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

Such soulful knowing eyes. Beautiful tones in this and what a wonderful subject to be able to capture.

Amazing photo, Kent. You’ve captured the big cat’s beauty. All I can think of when I look at that face, though, is how deceptive is that! He “looks” so lovable, but he’d likely eat us alive.

Wow, I love that a simple image can inspire such thought. Thank you so much!

Erika,
Every single image is simply a step to the next better one. I’ve taken 100s of thousands of images in my life, most which stink. The whole fun of photography is trying to spend less time making stinky images. It’s always a work in progress and a personal struggle.
OK, you can stop that kinda talk right now!
As a matter of fact, this image was the best from what I would consider an epic fail for me. This is a “large” cat rescue facility. A donor had the idea of doing a book of images to raise money. Of course, I agreed. However, the staff, or lack there of, had no time to work with me. And as it turns out, most of the cats thought I was a play toy. This lion kept lunging at me as I’d frame him up in the camera. I stepped away from the project before I had permanent memories installed. So, see, everything is relative.
And, as far as WW goes, there are no class levels, no better or worse. We are all explorers searching, capturing, and sharing our experiences, period (exclamation point)! There’s no judgement here, just creativity. Thank you for sharing your creations!
