Loving your image Kent. Thanks so much for hosting WW. :) Have a great day!

Vanessa

Love this photo – with just his shoes and stance, you captured the pride, dignity and importance of this solitary path he marches!

I want to see that some day. It’s a great shot.

I must be either brave or stupid to throw my amateurish photos in here with the big dogs. I’m thinking of taking your next eclass if I can work it out.

Don’t be silly, there’s NO judgement here. If you are making photos you love and challenging yourself, that’s the greatest measure you should be working with. Happy shooting and thanks for sharing!! :)

Ahhhhhh the soggy carpet rather than the red carpet and I like the perspective you’ve taken it from.

Love the perspective and the light is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this photo!

That’s just gorgeous.

We had some fun with ours this week!

Thanks so much for your invitation to join your WW challenge. I’ll add your challenge to my list of weekly photo collaborations on my blog page. Thank you Kent! :)

What an amazing picture! Oh my…

That is so gorgeous, but how on earth did you get that horse to stand so still in that exact spot? WOW

It’s me again! I would really like learn how to take great sunset photos. You’ve probably already featured this in your post and I missed it but you are so good at explaining the concepts in a way a layman can understand. Anyway, if you have time or would consider posting steps I would be most thankful. Golden Hour is another concept I’d like to learn more about. I’ve Googled it several times but the explanations are over my head and unlike Blue Hour I can’t find the “magic” settings.

Hope you had a great Holiday and Happy New Year!

Beautiful!

Thank you, so glad to have you join in. :)

She was relatively stationary, I did the moving around (darting left, right, up, and down) to get the sun where I needed it. :)

Great idea. I will see what I can do to put a “shooting sunsets” post together. Thank you!

Nice!! Love horses!

Stunning – I love how you used such a small aperture to get such a wonderful sunburst ………and just look at the breath of the horse! How far away were you from the horse?

Maybe 8 feet away. I was dancing in and out left and right to get this. I was trying to hide the sun behind the horse at first, then the sun peeked out. Happy surprise :)

Gorgeous photograph!

what a stunning shot!

Fabulous photo! Love!

The cold breath of the horse belies the warmth of the sun. Stunning contrast of feeling. Love it!

Thanks for the invite! I’ve linked up and am now following, I struggle so much with getting good pictures regularly. I rarely get lucky so I need to learn some skills!

oh my word, that is stunning. I didn’t realize you did this. I am going to have to join it. I always saw your WW link in twitter-this is the first time I clicked over!

Wow!! That is breathtaking. Thanks for linking up. :)

Amazing shot! I love the starburst affect, but mostly I love the horse’s breath!!!!!!

what a magical photo! The light and the bend in the horses head with his breath…gorgeous!

Beautiful silhouette. Love the lighting in that photo.

There’s Bokeh in My Photo

There’s Bokeh in My Photo  There’s Bokeh in My Photo This exciting feature can be found in the background of images which are shot with a shallow depth of field. Bokeh, originates from the Japanese word ‘boke’ which means haziness or blur, but can also mean mentally unstable. Well, in our photos, we are looking...

The reflector cast a shadow of your camera on your chest :)

Aperture Priority was the very first “mode” (?) I figured out on my camera. I love using it. Now to grasp the same understanding of ISO, shutter speed, white balance, etc, etc. ;)

Thanks, good eye. I will bring this up with the entire film crew in our next production workshop. :)

Respectfully submitted. Time to drop Flash so we can learn from you on our iPads. Have followed your exploits and advice for some time, but am moving away from desktop to iPad as most used device, other than heavy lifting. HTML5 please. Your readers will thank you. Doesn’t leave out anyone and includes many many of your readers.

can you accomplish a bokeh affect with a digital camera such as the NIKON COOLPIX S230?

Smaller point and shoot cameras can be difficult to create bokeh with. The small size of the lens doesn’t allow for the depth of field to effect the image as much. You can try creating bokeh in the background by using the macro feature and getting very close to your subject while allowing some of the background to appear in the frame.

I love bokeh, shooting flowers (close ups) I use f2.8 just to have bokeh , I think it gives more feeling to that kind of pictures:)
