great tip, simple but well founded advice, just keeping the camera face down and turning it off, thanks for sharing!!

A sensible basic tip, which I haven’t specifically thought of when changing lenses before.

Could also help to blow/wipe any dust from around where the lens meets the body, before taking it off. Hopefully not dirty at the time, but may be worth checking this.

However, do also need to avoid dust getting into the lenses when not attached to the camera body, or you might just create the problem that way.

Laureen is great. Always a treat to open a post with her images. Love where she lives and what she does with that locale with her own children, esp. Great photographer to choose!

Laureen makes really eye pleasing photos.

I still remember so clearly the first time I saw Jim’s work – probably more than any other photo assignment I’ve ever had the pleasure of viewing. I was sitting in a car dealership flipping through a National Geographic back in 1997 (-ish) where I stumbled upon his North Woods Journal.

The idea of being “allowed” only ONE frame a day for 90 days is still so intriguing to me. Really makes you think about pulling the trigger on a photograph, especially now when we can fire away in the digital world with little financial or material consequence… to slow down and compose for your sole photograph of a day… I still love it and strive to find such patience and discipline!
