RAW vs. JPG Photo File Format
Both file formats have advantages and disadvantages. JPG files are smaller, compact, and ready to go, however they are missing much of the original captured information because of their compressed nature. RAW, or non-compressed photos are the complete package with no information thrown away or disregarded. Because of their level of completeness, RAW files are much larger and will consume huge amounts of storage space.
