Pairing the Silver River

Pairing the Silver River

twologgators

OK, how many times can one person go down the Silver River? I think the answer is, not enough. Never have two trips down this five mile jewel of a river ever been alike. This most recent trip was the “pair” trip. With this pair of baby gators sharing a cozy log, it was as if they had been prepped, propped, and posed. Not so, this is how they were when we drifted in.

The next ‘pair’ were these amazing wood ducks. For those who think the female cardinal got the short straw, take a look a this guy. I can stare at a male wood duck for a long time, and no my wife has nothing to worry about. With the wood duck, my running question is, why? Why all the colors? Why the patterns? Were their patterns like this 1,000 years ago, or did they evolve?

Another opportunity to enjoy the great Silver River. Another opportunity to witness greatness.
