Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph Caydee Denney a local pairs skater with strong potential for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Yeah there’s ice in Florida to practice on. You just have to know where to go.
The shoot was a blast. With much appreciated help from my long time friend and photo buddy, Guy, everything went smooth and swift. We weren’t about to hold up Caydee’s workout. The brunt of the work was taken up by the always trustee Nikon SB800 flashes. With a touch of warm on the main and a little cool on the fill, the stage was set. Add a 1/20 of a second shutter speed, a well held ladder on ice, a spinning skater, and a lot of luck and I think we got something.
