Featured Photographer ~ Rebecca Mudrick
Growing up, my parents taught me to love and appreciate art and I have always felt most settled and at home in a museum. I studied art and business in college and was interested in photography but didn’t really dig in deep until I discovered my husband’s Pentax K1000 in my early twenties. Initially I had no intention of becoming a professional photographer, but a dear friend recognized potential in my work, built me a website and booked my first portraits clients despite my protests. It’s been 10 years since I began my journey as a photographer, and it has been an incredible journey indeed. I love that there is no end to technical and creative growth, and I love the challenge that each new portrait client presents.
In general, I tend to be drawn to simple compositions and dramatic light. I love incorporating windows and other architectural elements to add interest to a portrait. I also love capturing real emotions and work hard to connect with each of my little subjects. The result is a body of work that is carefully crafted but honest and real.

Wow! This Rebecca Mudrick is really talented! I can’t believe the beauty she captures in such small people… I love that she lets the center of her work be the eyes, face, hands, etc. of her tiny people, and that there are so few visual distractions in her framing. Nice choice, Kent!
