Amazing image.

Wow Kent, that lion is awesome, absolutely amazing! Makes my feeble attempts at Wordless Wednesday look like they were taken by a 2 yr old :)

What a gloriously regal photo! Love that face! Excellent!

All I can think of when I look at that photo is Aslan.

And then I think of this exchange from the book:
Susan speaking of Aslan: “Is he safe?”

Mrs. Beaver: “If there’s anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they’re either braver than most or else just silly.”

Lucy: “Then he isn’t safe?”

Mr Beaver: “’Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

Such soulful knowing eyes. Beautiful tones in this and what a wonderful subject to be able to capture.

Amazing photo, Kent. You’ve captured the big cat’s beauty. All I can think of when I look at that face, though, is how deceptive is that! He “looks” so lovable, but he’d likely eat us alive.

Wow, I love that a simple image can inspire such thought. Thank you so much! :)

Erika,
OK, you can stop that kinda talk right now! :) Every single image is simply a step to the next better one. I’ve taken 100s of thousands of images in my life, most which stink. The whole fun of photography is trying to spend less time making stinky images. It’s always a work in progress and a personal struggle.
As a matter of fact, this image was the best from what I would consider an epic fail for me. This is a “large” cat rescue facility. A donor had the idea of doing a book of images to raise money. Of course, I agreed. However, the staff, or lack there of, had no time to work with me. And as it turns out, most of the cats thought I was a play toy. This lion kept lunging at me as I’d frame him up in the camera. I stepped away from the project before I had permanent memories installed. So, see, everything is relative. :)
And, as far as WW goes, there are no class levels, no better or worse. We are all explorers searching, capturing, and sharing our experiences, period (exclamation point)! There’s no judgement here, just creativity. Thank you for sharing your creations! :)

Thank you! This is about the only moment he looked like he was being nice. ;) (read reply to Erika)

He was. :) Read the other comment response. Thank you!

Amazing expression.

Very visual! can’t miss that.

Love that! I live in a small town, way out in the country so that’s something we don’t see around here. Very charming. :)

Thanks so much for joining our family of sponsors in the Leap Into Spring Photo Challenge, Kent. We’re so honored to have you. Have a great day!

So unique … I love it!

AMAZING SHOT!!! What an awesome experience that must have been!

What a great shot, Kent. Wow!

Amazing shot Kent.

Ah, comment box-yay. Couldn’t find it the last few weeks. Now I can admire this amazing shot at the time I’m seeing it. So much to take in-the subject, the light, the way the ground appears from above. Love the image. Thanks for the WW. I enjoy saying nothing from time to time.

Thanks, it was. Still smiling. More to come in my post tomorrow. ;)

Thank you!

Thanks! :)

Yes, not sure what was going on with my comments. They appear to be working (fingers-crossed) Glad you like the shot. Yes, the ground, the light, everything at that split second was perfect. Thanks :)

Oh my gosh Kent – this shot is FANTASTIC! wow!

Thanks Jenny! :)

Melissa

Just WOW…AMAZING!

Awesome shot!

Kent,
Do you have any experience with “Eneloop” batteries as they relate to Nikon CLS flash units performance??
I appreciate your input.
Thanks,
Frank

Frank,
I don’t have experience with “Eneloop” batteries, but rechargeables in Nikon SB800s, yes. My experience is that the rechargeables are fussy and you need many sets ready as back-ups. I’ve recently switched to straight alkaline batteries, as I can’t trust the rechargeable to be ready when I need them. Also, I’m not sure if the SB900 solved this issue, but the SB800s give no indication the batteries are low and it’s easy to go from good shots to the flash just doesn’t seem to be working. Replacing the batteries always fixes the issue. Hope that helped. Let me know.

Well, I guess it did Kent…Thanks!
Looking forward to my first e-class in…1 day and some hours.
Thanks Again,
Frank

Amazing!!!

I usually lurk and admire your photos from afar. But this time I have to tell you that this image is spectacular! It’s the gorgeous light that makes the shot.

joining for the first time, although I do have a few words on my post.Your photo is fantastic! What a great experience!

OK, time to post up your images ;) Lurkers no longer anonymous.

I plan to participate in the next month or two. I have much time devoted right now on a consulting job (when I supposed to be retired and having fun, LOL). In the meantime, I am having fun looking and learning!

Gorgeous shot, Kent!

WOW!!! Sooo gorgeous!!

I am in awe of this shot! The light is AMAZING and I love the landscape in the background. What a once in a lifetime experience and capture! Thank you for sharing and for hosting this link up!

Thanks Emily. It’s amazing how things can come together when there is a plan and a little luck. ;)

Sounds good! There must be some time for photography?? I’m getting all antsy right now thinking of not having time for photography. :)

I shall join the Wordless Wednesday crew. I’ve captured the badge for my blog, & I want to link it also. Did you create this? or is there a source somewhere?? In the meantime I’ll link it to your blog ………………

Thank you for mentioning my WW linky, Kent! I’m honored.

My, are those plane photos amazing!

My pleasure! Thanks for sharing :)
