So beautiful!

Lovely capture!

Wow, Kent…the detail in this is amazing. I especially love the blues – on the harness and in horizon reflection in the horse’s eye.

Such a beautiful photo! Beautiful light and detail!

[Reply]

I’m so afraid of horses that I haven’t gotten this close to one in years. Gorgeous animals.

Gorgeous photo! Love the reflection in his eye!

Hope that isn’t someone you know. Love the long diagonal, and the action of an intense moment captured. Right place, right time.

It’s all about composition, right? Love this perspective.

[Reply]

This is actually a ladder company training drill with the new rookie as the “dummy”. I’m standing on a stool with my feet at about the rail height and another firefighter holding me by my belt. The things we do for the photo! :)

[Reply]

Usually, yes, composition dominates! :)

[Reply]

Wow! The perspective in this is incredible! What a view!

[Reply]

Incredible shot, Kent! I feel a little dizzy just looking at it.

Fabulous image, love the patterns.

[Reply]

What a fascinating photo. Trying hard to place it, but just can’t do it.

[Reply]

Great fill the frame. Wondering where so found so many stars….too bad it’s wordless Wednesday, but that’s also the beauty of it.

[Reply]

Hi Susan,
Oh it’s not wordless in the comments. ;) This is the WWII Memorial in Washington DC. Each star represents 100 Americans who sacrificed their life for freedom. Thanks for asking.

[Reply]

Great lines and processing, Kent! I didn’t get an opportunity to visit the WWII Memorial while I was in DC this past December, but I so want to make it a point to visit during my next trip. Thanks for sharing this photo! Have a great day, Kent!

This is a fabulous photo! Love the angle and the patterns.

Amazing image.

Wow Kent, that lion is awesome, absolutely amazing! Makes my feeble attempts at Wordless Wednesday look like they were taken by a 2 yr old :)

[Reply]

What a gloriously regal photo! Love that face! Excellent!

[Reply]

All I can think of when I look at that photo is Aslan.

And then I think of this exchange from the book:
Susan speaking of Aslan: “Is he safe?”

Mrs. Beaver: “If there’s anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they’re either braver than most or else just silly.”

Lucy: “Then he isn’t safe?”

Mr Beaver: “’Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

Such soulful knowing eyes. Beautiful tones in this and what a wonderful subject to be able to capture.

[Reply]

Amazing photo, Kent. You’ve captured the big cat’s beauty. All I can think of when I look at that face, though, is how deceptive is that! He “looks” so lovable, but he’d likely eat us alive.

[Reply]

Wow, I love that a simple image can inspire such thought. Thank you so much! :)

Erika,
OK, you can stop that kinda talk right now! :) Every single image is simply a step to the next better one. I’ve taken 100s of thousands of images in my life, most which stink. The whole fun of photography is trying to spend less time making stinky images. It’s always a work in progress and a personal struggle.
As a matter of fact, this image was the best from what I would consider an epic fail for me. This is a “large” cat rescue facility. A donor had the idea of doing a book of images to raise money. Of course, I agreed. However, the staff, or lack there of, had no time to work with me. And as it turns out, most of the cats thought I was a play toy. This lion kept lunging at me as I’d frame him up in the camera. I stepped away from the project before I had permanent memories installed. So, see, everything is relative. :)
And, as far as WW goes, there are no class levels, no better or worse. We are all explorers searching, capturing, and sharing our experiences, period (exclamation point)! There’s no judgement here, just creativity. Thank you for sharing your creations! :)

Thank you! This is about the only moment he looked like he was being nice. ;) (read reply to Erika)
