Hi Mr. kent I just tweeted you about me having a Nikon D50 I have 2 lenses one 18-50mm sigma dc and one 70-300mm sigma dg and am trying to start doing portrait photo could you please help me out. And I want to stop using the flash in every shot but when I don’t my pix become yellowish and sometimes blur.( sorry if I make some errors typing my first language is french) Hope to ear soon from you.

Jo

You need to go where there is more natural light. Try doing your portraits near a north window, or outside on an overcast day. If your images are yellowish, you may need to change your white balance setting. Also, try using side light and reflective light. Add a white sheet or board to the dark side of your subject to bounce light into the shadows.

Jo

thx for the answer it was fast and effectiv.!!

Captured a nice moon rising over the city skyline of Denver last week. I’ll throw it on the rails for critique:

Randee,
What a cool project – the Traveling Holga!! That’s awesome. Cool shot. Is this a digital version of your one shot?

RandeeQ

Yes, we had to take a pic of the camera alone or one with us holding it to post on the site, after we took a photo of something with the Holga. I love this small closet like building that was discovered behind the building they tore down…downtown. pretty cool :) I did remove a bit of saturation, liked a bit of the old fashioned look with out being black and white :)

RandeeQ

OOPs…this is a shot I took with MY camera of the Holga. they wont post the pics off the film until it makes it to all its stops. cant wait :)
