Photo Tip Tuesday – Is my camera battery charged or not?

CameraBatteryMarking

At first I got a little tired of putting a new battery into my camera only to have the battery indicator light tell me it was low and needed charged. I always carry a couple batteries to make sure I have power when I need it. The problem was, how do I know which batteries need charging and which are ready to go?

The batteries I use have a clear plastic cover on them. I then use a red and green Sharpie marker to color the edge of the plastic cover over the battery terminal. When the battery is charged I place the green mark over the battery’s terminals. When the battery needs to be recharged, I remove it from the camera and place the red mark over the battery’s terminals. No more second guessing, it saves time.
